Ristorante Roma Leicester Square

I was surprised that Leicester Square was not busier given that venue and tourist attractions close by were reasonably busy. We looked at round at the restaurants in Leicester Square and found the welcome at this venue most appealing. I will be scoring everything out of 5


Access 

Ristorante Roma has level access for people with mobility issues including an outdoor seating area which was in use with massive heaters in operation to keep those outside very warm. The helpful staff made my dad and I feel at ease. Did not ask if they had a disabled toilet. 4


Customer Service 

From the moment we entered the premises we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were very attentive to the needs of the customer. The attitude of the staff and knowledge of the menu is excellent, to such a point that even before we ordered our drinks we were being asked about allergies and about concerns we might have.

The menu was wide and varied with a huge variety of Italian dishes on the menu some of which I was curious about. 4


The Food 

I had the Carbonara and Dad had the Lasagne. The combination of flavours in my Carbonara was fantastic. I would go as far as to say it is the best Carbonara I have ever had.  I can't speak for Dad's Lasagne because I did not taste it, however the smell was fantastic

Now on to dessert. Black Forrest Cake x2 dad and I had the same. This was moist, supple and fresh full of flavour and leaving you wanting more 5

This is very good value when you consider where we are. It balanced because it does include a service charge. I was expecting the bill to be a lot more and was pleasantly surprised to see it come in  at under £100 5

Overall thought

I was surprised at the level of quality, knowledge and expertise of the staff, given the fact that it was cold and me personally would not have wanted to work outside. The attitude shown was excellent. They could not do enough for my dad and I, excellent value for money. I will be returning.

The Real Eating Company (Canterbury branch)

 Location Canterbury Date of Visit 5/3/25 This wonderful eatery is based in the Whitefriers Canterbury. I will be scoring everything out of 5 Access The eatery has level access to the ground floor, however no access to the upper floor as the life in the building has been out of order for a long time, I believe due to water damage due to  a leak.  As a result of this access to the disabled toilet is impossible. The nearest toilets for people with disabilities are in Fenwicks which is about 100 yards away. 3 Customer Service  The people who work for this organisation are excellent and very accommodating. The politeness of the staff is second to none. Most of the staff have time for conversation when it is not busy and there is always a welcoming smile. It's also dog friendly. 5 The Food The eatery offers a wide range of sandwiches, cakes and pastries and toasties some of which can be warmed on request. Cote Canterbury

 Date of visit 2/5/25 Cote is a French restaurant located in the very heart of Canterbury, close to everything, shops cathedral buses, taxis and about 10 minutes walk from both Canterbury East and West. Access 4/5 It has level access for those with mobility issues with a large ground floor space and reasonable sized outdoor seating area, which is great in the summer if you enjoy eating outside. It also has an upstairs seating area which is inaccessible for people with mobility issues and a reasonably sized disabled toilet which is located at the back of the restaurant on the ground floor. Customer service 3.5/5 The customer service we received on our visit was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for staff, which given how busy they were was refreshing.
