Located on the outskirts of the city 15 minutes walk from Canterbury East railway station on one side of the city and 10 minutes walk from Canterbury West on the other side. The venue is service by many different bus routes that go throughout the city

I will be scoring everything out of 5

This is an excellent venue that has decent access for wheelchair users and people with disabilities in general. It has a front and rear entrance. The main doors at the back are quite tight for anything other than a standard wheelchair. In my opinion it would probably be better to use the front entrance as the doors are wider. The hotel has a small disabled toilet located in the bar.

Customer service


The customer service here is more often than not excellent. The hotel is very busy on a Sunday when we usually go as a family so service can seem a little slow if the hotel is busy, however the staff are always friendly and accommodating even if they are run off their feet.

Quality if food


The menu has a wide variety of thing to cater for most tastes, they also do a Carvery which is excellent quality, and a decent range of deserts.


We order 5 Carveries mains as it was a family dinner, this could consist of 3 meats beef turkey and gammon. also available at the carvery was a wide of vegetables a couple of types of potato, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing sausages. There is also a wide ring of sauces available to accompany the plate such as Horseradish , Apple, Mint and mustard.


For desert we ordered one spotted dick and custard one jam sponge and custard one apple pie and custard and one lemon meringue pie and ice cream. 

These were all excellent quality. I had the spotted dick and custard which was really hot as was the custard the texture was excellent

Price 

£111 for 5 of us to eat what we ate and drunk was excellent value for money. I don't think we would have got it cheaper anywhere else within about a 10 mile radius

Summary

We as a family enjoy visiting the hotel and have always been made to feel very welcome, the hotel recently put on a function for us to celebrate the life if my of my mother. they do a magnificent job of hosting many functions

 Date of visit 8/3/25 This a wonderful Curry House in the heart of Canterbury. I believe it opened in 1976. I will be scoring everything out of 5 Access 4/5 Access is gained to the lower half of the restaurant is gained by access through the main door which has flat access. The Real Eating Company (Canterbury branch)

 Location Canterbury Date of Visit 5/3/25 This wonderful eatery is based in the Whitefriers Canterbury. I will be scoring everything out of 5 Access The eatery has level access to the ground floor, however no access to the upper floor as the life in the building has been out of order for a long time, I believe due to water damage due to  a leak.  As a result of this access to the disabled toilet is impossible. The nearest toilets for people with disabilities are in Fenwicks which is about 100 yards away. 3 Customer Service  The people who work for this organisation are excellent and very accommodating. The politeness of the staff is second to none. Most of the staff have time for conversation when it is not busy and there is always a welcoming smile. It's also dog friendly. 5 The Food The eatery offers a wide range of sandwiches, cakes and pastries and toasties some of which can be warmed on request.  Date of visit 2/5/25 Cote is a French restaurant located in the very heart of Canterbury, close to everything, shops cathedral buses, taxis and about 10 minutes walk from both Canterbury East and West. Access 4/5 It has level access for those with mobility issues with a large ground floor space and reasonable sized outdoor seating area, which is great in the summer if you enjoy eating outside. It also has an upstairs seating area which is inaccessible for people with mobility issues and a reasonably sized disabled toilet which is located at the back of the restaurant on the ground floor. Customer service 3.5/5 The customer service we received on our visit was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for staff, which given how busy they were was refreshing.
