Tea Cafe (Canterbury)

This is located in what used to be Pantellis near the clock tower in Canterbury. The modernization of the premises is excellent it now a spacious very open venue, unlike the tight cramped venue that it was previously

Date of visit. Regularly

Access 3.5/5

There is a small step up into the building. Ramp access can be provided on request. The venue also has a modern disabled toilet. also has an upper floor that is not accessible to wheelchair users.

Customer service 5/5

There is always plenty of staff around on any day you go in. The staff are cheerful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are quick to serve and always ask how was it at the end pf your meal

Quality of food 4/5

There  is a large extensive menu that offers so much choice, as well as an all you can eat breakfast for under £9 which is excellent quality and daily specials on specials boards. The Sunday roast is excellent and excellent value for money. They have accommodated my odd taste in food such as a jacket potato with tuna, cheese and beans more than once and my dislike of veg and salad is also well accommodated. I think they will do there best to cater for any order and dietary requirement.

Cost 4/5

This venue is excellent value for money as proven by the difficulty of sometimes getting a seat. I have no regrets about continuing to visit this establishment because it offers some of the best value for money in the city

Score 16.5/20

Side note

Where the venue reopened many people said to me it would fail as a cafe, as Pantellis had closed as a result of the Covid lock down. However with a new name and more space it is great to see that the cafe has established itself back in the heart of community and it's reputation continues to grow
